The Government proposes the actual Board of KPA for another additional mandate.

In its 134th meeting, with the decision 03/134, The Government of the Republic of Kosovo proposed to the Kosovo Assembly the following candidates as the Board members of the Kosovo Privatization Agency: Mr. Dino Asanaj, Mr. Slobodan Petrovic, Mr. HaxhiArifi, Mr. BahriShabani, andMr. NaserOsmani, who was proposed as a Board member of the Kosovo Privatization Agency, with the Governmental Decision No. 03/117, held onMarch 30th2010.

 

It is important to mention that two years ago, in the 25th meeting, held on July 3rd2008, the Government proposed to the Kosovo Assembly the following members as candidates as the Board members of the KPA: Dino Asanaj, HaxhiArifi, Slobodan Petrovic, FadilFeratajandBahriShabani. After the death ofFadilFeratit, the government proposed Mr.NaserOsmani, for replacing the vacant position in the Board of KPA. Now, the Kosovo Government has extendedthe mandate to all board members of KPA for an additional mandate of two years. 

 

The Kosovo Privatization Agency is established as an independent public body, whichpractices functions and responsibilities in a totally independent way. The Agency has full legal capacity, especially for doing contracts; for taking, keeping and selling properties; as well as all self-understandable competencies for fulfilling all duties and competencies defined with law; and sueandbesuedin the name of law. The Agency is established as successor of the Kosovo Trust Agency, regulated in accordance with the UNMIK Regulation 2002/12 on 'Establishment of Kosovo Trust Agency”.

 

The Board consists of eight directors, including as well the Managing Director and it has all competencies of the Agency. Kosovo Assembly has the duty to assign five directors, including one representative from a non-Albanian community as well as the President of theUnion of Independent Trade Unions of Kosovo, and to name one of the appointed members as a Leader of the Board. While, the International Civil Representative has the duty to assign three internationals as Board Directors and one international as Board Director of the Executive Secretary. Directors, besides the chairperson and vice-chairperson of the Board and Board Director of the Executive Secretary, have two years repeated mandate. The Board has general responsibility for activities of the Agency, and for execution of these responsibilities undertakes needed actions, or the ones allowed by law.
