GAP and BIRN Published Reports on Problems of Anamorava Region

20/09/2013

On September 20, the GAP Institute, in cooperation with the Balkan Investigative Reporting Network (BIRN), published reports on the Anamorava region, which includes the municipalities of Gjilan, Viti, Kamenica, Partesh, Kllokot, Ranillug and Novoberda.

The reports show current problems that municipalities are facing and that are directly related to the local governments’ actions. Each report provides an overview of trends in the last year’s budget as well as estimates for 2014 -2016.

GAP’s field research in Anamorava region has identified 46 problems in seven municipalities in this area, in 142 locations. The reports emphasize the areas to which the municipalities should pay attention in the next four years.

The problems that citizens in this region face were identified and addressed to the public so that future authorities, emerging from the elections, will consider these problems as priorities to be solved.

In the upcoming days, GAP and BIRN will publish similar reports for Prizren, Mitrovica, Peja, Ferizaj and Prishtina regions. These reports will be delivered personally to all mayoral candidates  in Kosovo.
