New members are added to the Independent Review Board of Appeals

In its 132ndmeeting, the Kosovo Government approved proposals for appointing new members to the Independent Review Board of Appeals. The proposed names for this Board are: ArbenCanolli, Samir Lleshi, ArbenAvdiu, AgimBivolaku, NexhatHasani, PerparimHoxha, LulezimZeka, Afrore Rudi, FaikCollakudheIsmail Kovac.
The Independent Review Board of Appeals is an independent Kosovovarinstitution that deals with reviewing decisions of the Kosovo Tax Administration if the taxpayer is unsatisfied.
Based on the Law on Tax Administration, the Independent Review Board of Appeals is established in accordance with the UNMIKAdministrative Directive No. 2000/7. The Board members are proposed from the Government, only based on their abilities to accomplish their functions, and are appointed from the Assembly. The mandate for each member is two years, whereas half of the members will be substituted in the end of every calendared year. This board should be formed from one Executive member and other fourteen members, where at leastseven members belong to the Kosovo business community and all of them are independent from Ministry of Economy and Finance. Firing board members can be done from the Assembly, with the recommendation of the Government, if it evaluates that is inadequate to accomplish its functions or if it is in a conflict interest position.
